Description Location: UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital Main Hosp, US:CO:Fort Collins Department: PVH Phlebotomy FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Nights Pay: $22.14 - $28.78 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience Summary: Supervises the operations of a defined laboratory section. Responsibilities: Establishes policies, procedures, and protocols for specimen collection and processing. Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols. Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints. Serves as a consultant to laboratory staff as well as other members of the healthcare team as needed. Acts as manager in their absence.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. Requirements: Minimum Required Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program. Required Licensure/Certification: Certified as a Donor Phlebotomy Technician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent within one year of hire or eligibility. State licensure if required by law. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.Minimum Experience: 2 years of related experience. BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
