Overview Florida Detroit Diesel Allison is searching for a Service Director. Responsibilities Positions Supervised: Service Managers, Government Support Manager, Product Support Manager. POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for overall and daily management of service functions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Oversee the daily operations of all assigned product lines. Manage the function in accordance with company and budget goals. * Create, document and implement consistent processes across product lines. Determine and model industry best practices. * Train new staff regarding product line knowledge, market knowledge, and processes. Maintain and improve knowledge level of current technical products, trends and advances. Communicate major trends or advancements to senior management. * Address customer service issues, including resale pricing, product quality, and product delivery scheduling. * Participate as part of management team in manufacturing forecasting efforts. * Oversee and review manufacturing schedules to monitor timeframes for product delivery to customers. Communicate discrepancies to customers. * Develop and monitor annual budgets for manufactured products, and implement cost control measures as appropriate. Manage product costs for all product lines; ensure accurate product costs are maintained throughout the project, from product development through product delivery. Review variances between estimated to build cost and actual cost. * Generate management reports detailing the status of pending and outstanding quotations, success to failure ratios, total quotations provided, and other statistics. * Ensure products manufactured and/or distributed are competitively priced, meet market and customer specifications, and are delivered according to schedule. * Forecast supply chain needs for anticipated manufacturing projects. * Evaluate alternative vendors to locate components with best fit, form and function for manufactured products. * Oversee the development of project costs and customer quotations. * Generate and present Percentage of Completion (POC) reports for projects in progress to management. * Forecast annual equipment revenue margins for all assigned product lines. * Develop, monitor and implement continuous product and process improvements. * Analyze liability exposure related to customer product claims and warranty issues. * Interact with various internal departments, including supply chain, sales, production and engineering in the development of pricing and cost recommendations. Participate in the development of sales forecasts for use in production planning, manufacturing operations, and inventory control. * Select, train, assist, advise, and motivate staff. Establish work standards and evaluate staff’s performance. Hire, counsel, and discharge staff as necessary. * Ensure all business transactions are conducted in an ethical manner. * Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures. Qualifications QUALIFICATION Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) and/or four to ten years related experience. * + Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem. + Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures. + Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task. + Ability to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result. + Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal. + Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals. + Ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions. + Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others. + Ability to influence others to change position or to adopt a specific point of view. + Ability to effectively present information publicly. + Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems. + Ability to organize and direct a project to completion. + Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. SKILLS & ABILITIES Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project). Prior experience with JD Edwards systems preferred. Certificates & Licenses N/A Other Requirements Technical degree preferred. Project management experience required. Broad market knowledge of oilfield services industry and equipment applications required.
