Position Summary: As a dedicated solo truck driver for our Altoona, PA account, you'll play an essential role in transporting critical railroad parts along a designated 5-day weekly route. With no slip seating, you'll enjoy consistent schedules and routes, ensuring reliable home time and stability. Hazmat endorsement is required for this role, as 20% of the loads consist of broken-down locomotive parts. While weekend and holiday work is part of the job due to the 24/7 nature of our operations, schedules are specific to the route, offering predictability and flexibility. Job Details: Railroad Parts: Dedicated service in transporting railroad parts for our partner's operations. Hiring Area: Within a 75-mile radius of Altoona, PA. Lane: One lane running 5 days a week, starting in Altoona, PA, with deliveries and pickups along the route. Miles: Weekly mileage ranges from 2,500 to 2,950 miles. Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday schedule with departures at 06:00-07:00, returning home weekly for a 34-hour reset. Equipment Type: 2020 or newer Kenworth or Freightliner trucks equipped with tandem axle sleepers and automatic transmission. Freight Type: Combination of drop and hook and tailgating. Requirements: 6 months of recent tractor-trailer experience; Hazmat endorsement required; Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Drivers work any holiday except Christmas Day, receiving regular activity pay plus holiday pay. Typical schedules offer 48 hours or more of reset time at home before returning to the road. Dog/Passenger Rider policies are available to interested drivers.
