Male is not just a place to work; it is a place to be creative and successful while at work. We have a full time opportunity for a Construction Observer for projects in our Latham, NY office. This position will provide field and related office services on construction projects as a representative of the firm. This position requires familiarity with: Construction survey procedures. Establishment of line and grade for construction. Method of various means of transfer of line and grade. General utility construction (water, sewer, drainage, roadway). Determination of pipe capacities, velocities and slopes. Local, State and Federal laws in regard to environmental health regulations, and construction standards. Local, State and Federal laws in regard to labor standard. Standard details and construction specifications of the firm. Project recordkeeping including daily reports, photographs, quantity tracking, equipment and manpower tracking, and documenting installed work for record drawings. Familiarity with traffic control and OSHA protocol. Construction of highways. General earthwork, site work, retaining walls, and concrete structures. QUALIFICATIONS Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology program or equivalent from a two year college or technical school. Must possess a valid driver's license.
