Managing all Quality Assurance functions, the Quality Assurance Director will work with cross functional leaders to deliver high quality products on schedule. You will establish controls at critical points in each process, ensuring execution at the highest levels, consistently . You should be able to see the big picture, calculate the highest priority objectives , and understand how to direct the team to achieve those objectives . Responsibilities will include overseeing Quality Assurance/Quality Control resources in Asia, the US, and Europe. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned . Assures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards . Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers. Develops raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements, conferring and negotiating with suppliers, and devising testing methods and procedures. Implements in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures. Institutes rework standards when required , by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures. Creates product quality documentation systems by writing and updating quality assurance procedures. Collaborates with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods. Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results. Develops quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Manages quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. Ensures quality by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Delegates authority to carry out work of a unit to subordinate supervisors or managers . Oversees Asia based QC Teams, as well as US Based inbound inspections and SQE's. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
