Transportation Specialist - $36,500-$40,000 per year (prorated for the current school year)- 35 hour work week- 15 paid holidays- Full Medical-PPO, Dental. Prescription, and Vision coverage from Day 1- 20 vacation days, 3 personal days, 10 sick days per fiscal year (prorated for the current school year) Position Summary: This position is responsible for coordinating special transportation for eligible students with a wide range of disabilities. This position requires the daily communication and coordination with teachers, districts, contractors, parents, and administration to ensure the transportation needs of our students. Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED Desired Qualifications: - Knowledge of the transportation system used for school entities- Understanding of basic office equipment - Proficiency in various Microsoft Programs Essential Functions and Responsibilities: - Coordinate specialized transportation for IU students- Maintain communication between the IU staff, district personnel, parents, and contractors on transportation matters- Keep records for preparation and submission of state and local reports such as pupils transported, route mileage, special trip records, and other required reports- Develop and maintain current vehicles schedules, routes, and lists of children eligible for transportation- Assist with the preparation of the Special Needs Transportation Budget- Perform other duties as assigned- Scheduling and routine maintenance of IU5 fleet vehicles- Manage clearances for contractor drivers- Coordinate and host monthly meetings with transportation coordinators from districts- Work with Occupational Health to coordinate drug and alcohol testing- Other duties as assigned. Performance Factors/Job Competencies: - Knowledge of all state and federal laws and regulations regarding school transportation- Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills - Ability to remain flexible to meet the schedule of the position- Able to work collaboratively with internal personnel and external individuals to coordinate the needs of IU students Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. Incumbent must be able to sit at desk for extended periods of time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment with a vast majority of the time utilizing computers to complete daily tasks. Due to travel outside of the home office, candidates are required to have a vehicle and valid driver's license to attend job related duties, meetings, seminars, and trainings.
