Job Summary: The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations and ensuring high-quality care and services for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or HIV/AIDS. This position will provide clinical supervision and leadership to a team of case managers, social workers, and direct support staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and the implementation of evidence-based practices. The Clinical Supervisor will collaborate with the leadership team to enhance service delivery, improve client outcomes, and promote a supportive environment for both staff and clients. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Supervision: Provide individual and group supervision to clinical staff, including case managers, social workers, and direct support professionals. Oversee the development and implementation of individualized service plans (ISPs) and care plans for clients, ensuring they are aligned with best practices and meet regulatory requirements. Conduct regular case reviews to monitor client progress and ensure appropriate interventions are in place. Support staff in managing complex cases, including those involving co-occurring mental health disorders, substance abuse, or severe behavioral challenges. Program Oversight & Development: Collaborate with the Program Director to evaluate and improve service delivery for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or HIV/AIDS. Implement new clinical programs and interventions, ensuring they meet the unique needs of the population served. Develop and revise clinical policies and procedures to align with evolving standards in care for developmental disabilities and HIV/AIDS. Ensure program compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) and DOH (Department of Health) guidelines. Staff Development & Training: Provide ongoing training and professional development to clinical staff, focusing on evidence-based practices for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or HIV/AIDS. Conduct performance evaluations, identify areas for improvement, and create development plans for staff. Organize workshops and seminars on relevant clinical topics such as crisis intervention, behavioral health, trauma-informed care, and person-centered planning. Client Advocacy & Support: Advocate for the rights and needs of clients by ensuring services are person-centered and focused on maximizing client autonomy and well-being. Serve as a resource for clinical staff when addressing challenging client situations, providing guidance on interventions and resolutions. Collaborate with medical professionals, therapists, and external service providers to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to client care. Administrative & Reporting Duties: Maintain accurate documentation of client care, clinical supervision, and program operations in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Prepare reports and presentations on clinical outcomes, staff performance, and program achievements for senior leadership and external stakeholders. Ensure timely submission of documentation for Medicaid and other funding sources. Crisis Intervention: Lead the response to clinical crises, including behavioral incidents or emergencies involving clients, ensuring safety and de-escalation protocols are followed. Provide direct support in urgent situations, collaborating with team members to assess and manage risks. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or HIV/AIDS, including 2-3 years in a supervisory role. Extensive knowledge of OPWDD and DOH regulations and service delivery models. Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and support staff in high-stress environments. Experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and person-centered planning. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation.
