This position will be assigned to Conroe's Southwest Wastewater Treatment Plant JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician I will perform labor intensive tasks and routine maintenance to equipment on a daily basis. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with six months of minimum experience. Must possess a valid Class C driver's license. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of wastewater treatment plants. Skill in operating a variety of equipment. Ability to obtain relevant certifications or licenses. Ability to understand and follow the City of Conroe and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking. Starting salary for this position is $18.123 hourly. Must pass background check and pre-employment substance abuse screening as a condition of employment.
