The essential duties of an Assistant Regional Planner are the following: Compiling and analyzing transportation and land use related data and technical information for transportation planning. Assisting in transportation and land use data collection and analysis to help maintain growth forecast methods and databases. Updating and applying models for Transportation, Growth Forecasting, and Scenario Planning. Supporting Growth Forecasting programs data analysis and recommendations. Analyzing socioeconomic growth trends and changes in land use patterns. Assisting in maintaining growth forecast methods and databases. Providing technical support for pertinent socioeconomic/land use data to internal staff and external stakeholders. Applying new model methodology, concepts, and technical skills, investigating data collection and analysis issues. Collecting and compiling socioeconomic data including Censuses and Employment from data sources.
