Position: Food Service Assistant Position type: Part Time Position location (School):American Paradigm Schools Department: Food Services Reports to: Director of Operations Employment status: non-exempt Employment duration: 10 months Position Summary: The Food Service Assistant play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for our students. Responsible for monitoring and supporting students during lunch periods, they uphold our commitment to quality service and student welfare. Key Responsibilities: Distribute and manage student lunch cards during lunch periods as required. Ensure students scan their IDs before receiving meals to maintain accurate meal counts. Gather feedback from students regarding food preferences during breakfast and lunch periods. Address students' allergy concerns during meal times, ensuring appropriate alternatives are available. Assist teachers with breakfast counts in the morning to facilitate efficient meal planning. Conduct regular kitchen walkthroughs, adhering to health inspection standards. Skills: Active listening Customer service orientation Effective verbal communication Social perceptiveness Education and Certifications: High School Diploma or GED Previous experience working in a school cafeteria Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and move up and down from a seated position Capability to push and walk up and down stairs Join our team and contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
