The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions. This role involves a range of responsibilities, from drafting and negotiating complex agreements to providing counsel on compliance and legal issues related to advertising and promotions. The candidate should demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong teamwork, and outstanding legal writing and communication skills.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate agreements related to advertising, including ad agency contracts, influencer partnerships, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, and online media buying.Review advertising copy to ensure compliance with laws and regulations concerning false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and right of publicity.Provide legal counsel on contest and sweepstakes compliance, price advertising, recurring subscriptions, and loyalty/rewards programs.Advise clients on false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division disputes.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop marketing strategies and address legal concerns.Stay updated on developments in advertising law and industry trends to provide proactive legal advice.Prepare and present legal opinions, memoranda, and reports.RequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active Bar admission in the state of Wisconsin.Substantive experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions.Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex advertising and marketing agreements.Experience handling false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division disputes is highly desirable.Previous experience in a large or medium law firm setting preferred.SkillsExcellent legal writing and communication skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Proven ability to work well within a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.In-depth knowledge of advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing regulations.Ability to provide strategic legal counsel and practical solutions.BenefitsAnnual discretionary bonus401(k) planMedical, dental, and vision insurancePersonal medical and parental leaveUp to ten paid holidaysFamily care benefits This firm has provided high-value legal services to company and industry leaders as well as public and non-profit organizations for decades.
