Tenure-Track/Tenured Full Time Faculty Chair, Department of Music Bethel University in Indiana Deadline Open until filled, application review begins April 1, 2023 Type Tenured, tenure track Salary Commensurate with experience Employment Type Full-time The Department of Music at Bethel University (IN) is seeking applications from qualified candidates who will be a charismatic and forward-looking leader who will serve as chair of the Department of Music and who will grow the Music program. The position starts August 2023. Bethel is an intentionally Christ-centered institution which hires faculty who demonstrate a strong Christian faith. The Department of Music serves three majors (General Music, Music Education, and Music Performance). The successful candidate will teach courses in his/her area(s) of expertise, as well as advise students in the appropriate majors. Preference will be given to those with experience in Music Education and in Choral Conducting, but all emphasis areas will be considered. Ideal candidates will also demonstrate teaching excellence, interest in strong interaction with students, possess an interest in cooperative programs in Christian Liberal Arts settings and indicate ways they will support the University's commitment to diversity. Normal faculty duties include twelve hours of undergraduate teaching per semester as well as departmental and professional responsibilities listed above. Education : Preferred doctorate degree in Music. Employment is contingent upon proof of legal right to work.... All interested candidates are invited to submit a cover letter, current vita, and a statement of educational philosophy. Additionally, as a Christian liberal arts institution, Bethel University desires that its faculty possess a vibrant Christian faith and an understanding of how that faith integrates with their discipline. Therefore, candidates are also asked to submit a brief statement of faith and statement on the integration of faith and learning. Priority consideration will be given to candidates whose applications are completed by April 1, 2023 but the position will remain open until filled.
