Salary: Peer Mentor I: $16.17 per hour starting; Peer Mentor II: $17.56 per hour starting The Peer Mentor will look forward to : Meaningful and rewarding work Opportunities to develop a broad range of clinical skills in working with adults Regular and accessible clinical supervision A supportive team of colleagues with a variety of experience and expertise. Ability to take on special projects and/or interests Opportunities for advancement Electronic health record - no paper charting Role: Under the supervision of the Mental Health Program Director and Program Coordinator, the Peer Mentor role will provide support for people with I/DD to advocate for their own goals; assist them in building independent lives; assist with person centered planning goals; help access people and resources within the community; guide with the principle of self-determination. Our collaborative approach to treatment requires strong teaming skills. This is a dynamic, team-oriented position with great opportunities to grow. Work with persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities; regular business hours; may be some evenings and weekends. Job Specific Requirements : Peer Mentor I or II: Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license, or in lieu thereof for service only to persons with intellectual / developmental disabilities, competency in the use of public transportation systems. High school diploma or equivalent. Must have received public mental health services currently or in the past for an intellectual/developmental disability; be willing to work 20 hours per week; meet the MDHHS approval process for specialized training and be willing to complete the MDHHS specialized training. Peer Mentor II - Successful completion of MDHHS Specialized Peer Mentor training.
