Tenure-Track Assistant/ Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Studies The Chatham University Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program has an immediate opening for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of PA Studies on a 9-month appointment. The position, under the supervision of the Program Director (PD), is responsible for providing classroom and laboratory instruction (including dissection and prosection) in human gross anatomy, human physiology, pathophysiology, and the clinical presentation of disease processes. In addition to teaching, the position also has the responsibility of advising students, providing service to the university, and engaging in scholarship as outlined in the Chatham University Faculty Manual. This position requires the applicant to be prepared to begin teaching for the start of the Fall 2023 term. Duties and Responsibilities : Instructional Responsibilities Provides classroom instruction in human gross anatomy with lab, human physiology, and pathophysiology according to the requirements of the MPAS curriculum Performs human cadaver dissection as preparation for human gross anatomy lab (prosection lab) Assists in the development, evaluation, and revision of the didactic and laboratory curricula Assists in the development of courses' syllabi, objectives, and outlines Participates in the review, recommendation, and procurement of instructional materials Professional Responsibilities Provides academic advising for PA program students. Maintains a research agenda that leads to invited peer-reviewed lectures and publications as outlined in the Faculty Manual. Demonstrates service to the university, PA program, profession, and students as defined in the Faculty Manual. Participates in the recruitment of new students as directed by the PD. If credentialed as a Physician Assistant, maintains professional certifications and/or licensures required by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine. Actively pursues continuing education activities for maintaining professional qualifications. Qualifications: A minimum of master's degree required. Three to five years' experience as a physician assistant, physician, or other post-baccalaureate degree with relevant anatomy/physiology and dissection experience required. If a PA, current certification from NCCPA is preferred. Prior higher education teaching experience strongly preferred.
