DEPARTMENT: Registrar REPORTS TO: Assistant Registrar, Faculty Systems and Support This position will prepare faculty profiles for the SVA website and maintain a database of current faculty, liaise with and provide support to faculty for registrar-related procedures such as grading and attendance, and assist with organizing, proofreading, and data entry of curriculum information for SVA publications and the SVA website. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Research information pertaining to faculty profiles, correspond with faculty and administrative staff regarding the publication and updating of faculty profiles, and compile profiles and publish them on the SVA website Maintain a faculty database related to the SVA website, ensuring that profiles are created for faculty members and that they are removed for any inactive faculty members Review and update course section information during the curriculum review process for the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education divisions, with specific attention paid to proofreading course descriptions to ensure clarity and compliance with SVA's style guides Maintain and update curriculum listings on all departmental pages of the SVA website Assist in day-to-day operations, including proofreading and data entry of curriculum Support the Assistant Registrar with the collection and maintenance of attendance and grade information; provide support and guidance to faculty members and communicate regularly to ensure timely compliance with submission deadlines Assist with testing software updates for licensed systems as necessary Assist students, staff, and faculty with general information and the processing of online registrations, enrollment verifications, transcripts, address changes, student schedules, and ID cards QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent English language and proofreading skills. Attention to detail is essential. Strong organizational skills and professional manner Ability to work independently and maintain focus and manage detail in a busy environment Strong computer skills (Macintosh preferred). Proficiency with cloud-based word processing and spreadsheet software (Google Workspace, Office 365). A working knowledge of basic HTML markup language for webpages is preferred. Working knowledge of relational database systems preferred, but not required (Ellucian Colleague preferred) WORKING AT SVA: School of Visual Arts has been a leader in the education of artists, designers, and creative professionals for nearly seven decades.
