The International Institute of St. Louis seeks a Mental Health Therapist to provide trauma-informed, short-term therapy to foreign born adults and children (6-18). This position will serve refugee and immigrants, inclusive of aging refugee populations predominantly experiencing isolation, adjustment stress, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. This is a non-billable position that provides direct services to those in need of therapy, as needed. ** Grant funded through September 30, 2023 Duties/Responsibilities Intake/Assessment, including: Bio-psycho-social-spiritual Assessment Risk Assessment Mental Status Exam Diagnosis Provide limited digital literacy to assist refugee clients accessing teletherapy services via remote services Schedule interpretation for therapy appointments & coordinate with interpreters Conduct home visits Develop individualized treatment plans Administer RHS-13, PHQ 9, and GAD7, CRIES Scale Conduct safety/harm reduction planning as needed Facilitate access to Emergency Services for individuals reporting intent for self-directed violence and/or violence against others Psychoeducation Provide regularly scheduled interventions based on individualized treatment plan Conduct bimonthly treatment plan/progress reviews Adhere to time frame of service per grant requirements Adhere to strict guidelines regarding client confidentiality Adhere to guidelines on mandated reporting Other duties as assigned. Ensure that the mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image. Assist in operationalizing the strategic plan. Required Skills/Abilities Strong psycho-education skills Strong ability to set boundaries Strong ability to maintain therapeutic frame Ability to conduct home visits/ home-based therapy Ability to prioritize, effectively manage multiple projects concurrently, and take ownership of work. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team as necessary. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers. Ability to maintain confidentiality of client and organization's information. Ability to work productively in a multicultural environment and demonstrate respect for differences. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365. Ability to approach and resolve problems in a detail and solution-oriented manner. Education and Experience Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (preferred) or LMSW/PLPC with experience Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems - preferred Training in any of the following modalities - preferred: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Somatic Experiencing, and/or Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocess (EMDR) Preference for applicants who speak Arabic, Farsi/Dari, Kinyarwanda, Nepali, Somali, Spanish, and/or Swahili, but not required.
