About This Role: Senior Business Analyst supporting a custom application development project in an agile development environment. Looking for an experienced and proven BA with the ability to elicit, define, visualize, and document end user driven requirements and ensure that they are properly incorporated into the developed software. Must have an excellent track record of defining business requirements, business processes, and a Product Backlog of User Stories. The individual should have proven experience writing requirements, being fully integrated within daily activities of Agile software development teams, and assisting Product Owner with Sprint and Increment planning sessions. Provide customer-oriented support and work in concert with Govt Product Owners to successfully achieve their priorities. Quality and thorough requirements are a must. Responsibilities: Coordinate with Product Owner, govt team lead, Subject Matter Experts, and the development and testing team to elicit and define a shared understanding of functional and non-functional requirements. Establish project scoping documents such as Business Requirements Documents, Business Process Models, and create/update Requirements Traceability Matrices to track requirements as they get developed. Elicit, define, and produce business process models (as-is and to-be), including “happy path” and “unhappy path” and other techniques. Knowledge of standards and best practices (e.g. BPMN) highly preferred. Produce requirements visualization and user interface design in the form of UI Mockups, wireframes, UI/UX design, flow diagrams, and business process models. Analyze and define business rules and validations to capture all use cases and business scenarios. Facilitate JAD sessions and demos with Product Owner, SME’s, end users, and stakeholders. Collaborate with Product Owner to define and groom Product Backlog of user-driven requirements in the form of Epics and User Stories with corresponding acceptance criteria in Atlassian JIRA, and maintain and groom in accordance with established priorities with the Govt Product Owner. Develop and maintain requirements documentation in team wiki on Atlassian Confluence, and update the project RTM to keep requirements current as development progresses. Work very closely with the Govt Product Owner to identify and shape priorities and ensure they are properly incorporated into future sprints and completed in a timely fashion by the development team. Capture action items and requirements from meetings and ensure they are documented and assigned as tasks or incorporated into user stories for timely completion Ability to act as team scrum master and facilitator as necessary along with Product Owner to facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint and increment planning. Estimate story sizing and track and manage team velocity. Perform gap analyses for requirements completeness and quality The “Need-to-Have” Skills & Qualifications: 5+ years of professional Business Analysis experience Past experience supporting Federal Govt software development projects using Agile methodology Advanced hands-on experience with Atlassian tool suite including JIRA and Confluence Advanced experience eliciting, defining, and producing business process flows and maps Ability to produce requirements documentation such as Requirements Traceability Matrix and Business Rule documents Ability to elicit and define requirements and write concise and complete User Stories with sufficient acceptance criteria Experience producing wireframes and UI mockups ahead of development Self-starter who can learn the various functional and non-functional requirements of a system on their own. Experience developing, refining, grooming, and prioritizing Product Backlog with key stakeholders Experience leading/facilitating agile ceremonies such as Sprint and Increment planning sessions, backlog grooming sessions, daily standups, product demos, etc… Advanced experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence Microsoft Visio or other process flow di Microsoft Office Tools and applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel) UI mockup tool experience is a plus Professional Certifications: N/A Education: Degree Preferred Clearance: Ability to obtain & maintain a Public Trust Clearance Years of Professional Experience: 6+ years of experience The “Nice-to-Have” Skills & Qualifications: Experience as a scrum master or project manager on an agile software development project Familiar with SDLC and “hands-on” experience planning for production deployment and path to production Experience with customer relationship management and expectation management Familiarity with UAT and application testing approaches Professional Certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification (or equivalent) Education: Advanced Degree preferred Years of Professional Experience: 7+ years of experience Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
