A Brief Overview Responsible for daily clinical and operational activities of the Center for Rehabilitation across the continuum of care, including the inpatient acute care, inpatient rehab, Day Hospital and outpatient settings through activities of program planning and development, and quality monitoring and improvement. Employs, supervises, and develops staff; prepares budget recommendations; develops, implements, and monitors policies and procedures which support the hospital's mission. What you will do Operational Management Works with Director to develop center initiatives to promote and improve the patient and family experience supporting enterprise wide initiatives. Oversees scheduling and daily flow of patients in acute care, rehab, day hospital and outpatient venues- including multi-disciplinary clinics. Develops and monitors appropriate scheduling processes to assure timely access to rehab services. Develops guidelines to ensure appropriate staffing across all venues, including holiday and weekend coverage, as needed. Effectively and equitably manages staff scheduled time-off requests to balance employee benefits against staffing needs Ensures appropriate staffing based on patient needs and institutional priorities. Manages staffing in response to census and patient acuity. Supports, enforces and interprets institutional administrative policies and procedures Drives development of and compliance with center policies and procedures, as well as compliance with organizational policies and standards of accrediting agencies and regulatory bodies. Fiscal Management Works with Director to complete operating and capital cost effective budget in support of organizational targets by stated deadlines Monitors monthly financial reports and details variances in required reporting venues. Works with Director to set staff productivity expectations; monitors staff productivity levels and implements service delivery model changes to meet or exceed targets Works with Director to support programmatic growth, resulting in increased scale, volume and revenue. Works with Director to identify and operationalize expense reductions and improved efficiencies. Staff Development and Mentoring Works with supervisors to recruit, coach, develop and retain qualified, competent staff Works with supervisors to ensure staff meets all minimum regulatory requirements of positions Works with supervisors to ensure appropriate orientation and ongoing clinical skills development of staff Creates an environment that fosters teamwork, cooperation, respect and diversity Quality and Patient Safety Incorporates patient safety into all aspects of family-centered patient care and coordination; promotes and adheres to the principles of a fair and just culture Monitors quality assurance on a regular basis; supports the QI coordinator in the development of annual quality improvement initiatives Ensures compliance with all center and hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines and standards of accrediting agencies and regulatory bodies Clinical Management Ensures the development of standards of professional care and conduct that are consistent with hospital and regulatory standards Works with Clinical Manager and Quality Improvement Coordinator to identify and create patient care guidelines using evidence-based practice, benchmarking and quality improvement initiatives. Promotes family-centered, interdisciplinary, competency-based patient care Develops and supervises level IV Occupational and Physical Therapists, ensuring discipline-specific line of site clinical oversight. Ensures that staff have access to high-quality, relevant, discipline-specific continuing education activities Research and Academics Works with Clinical Manager to support and promote clinically-based research activities Works with Clinical Manager to develop and promote programmatic growth through research and academic affiliations. Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Required Master's Degree Preferred Experience Qualifications At least five (5) years Progressive management experience in a healthcare system Required Experience in a leadership role in a rehabilitation setting, preferably an academic medical center. Preferred Skills and Abilities High level of analytical skill in order to work independently to identify and plan for the resolution of problems encountered in clinical and operations duties. Fundamental research skills including a general understanding of research methodology, design, and statistics. Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex.
