RESILIENCY PROGRAMS MANAGER Please Note : This is a hybrid position requiring you to be IN THE OFFICE @ 241 Ralph McGill Blvd, Atlanta, GA a minimum of three (3) days per week and/or as required.There will be approx. 25% ad-hoc travel as well. JOB SUMMARY: The Resiliency Programs Manager position is responsible for supporting the implementation of Georgia Power's Distributed Energy Resources (DER) based resiliency programs. The resiliency programs provide an enhanced level of service and economic benefit for customers that desire greater mitigation from energy delivery risk by extracting value from these DER for the benefit of all retail customers.The regulated programs included under this position's purview include the DER Customer Program Pilot, the DER Colocation Program, and the DER Customer Owned Program. DER assets this team is focused on through the DER Customer Program include dispatchable resources such as backup generators and battery energy storage solutions located on the customer's premises.This position will manage the customer journey through the development and implementation of DER projects with some of the Company's largest and most influential customers. This position will also work with internal partners to educate and support providing solutions through the deployment of assets under the DER Customer Program.Other important functions of this position will include meeting all regulatory requirements (i.e. filings, data requests, witness preparation, etc.), managing capital and O&M budgets, and serving as an advocate for the Company's position on DER and resiliency issues to influential audiences, including large existing and prospective customers, industry groups, regulators, internal partners, and other stakeholder groups. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree in business or engineering discipline Proven record of communicating effectively externally with large influential customers Proven record of communicating effectively internally across a broad set of functions and organizations Experience developing proposals and project management associated with a variety of complex projects is preferred Experience working for or closely with Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Transmission, Utility Planning or Utility/Distributed Generation Development Experience working on regulatory filings or working with utility regulatory commissions is a plus Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Broad understanding of the utility operations, policies, and procedures Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Must be able to lead diverse working groups, maximize team effectiveness, and set clear expectations of those around them Proven ability to maneuver and operate in a political climate (state and local) Proven ability to build and leverage relationships internally and externally Proven ability to build and maintain customer relations and focus on customer service Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously Proven ability to achieve buy-in to establish timelines and meet deadlines Proven ability to understand and be able to manage risk when developing a project Strong computer skills utilizing MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point) Strong verbal communication skills (one-on-one, small group, large group) Strong written & media-based communication skills (e-mails, presentations, summarizing) Proven ability to comprehend, write, and edit tariffs and commercial terms is a plus Behavioral Attributes: Models all aspects of Southern Company's Values Create an inclusive environment that promotes creativity to identify and develop new growth opportunities Desire to lead diverse teams and leverage others' skills and abilities Effectively collaborate with people in a dynamic business environment Be receptive to change and seek ways to improve processes, competitiveness, and communication MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing support and guidance for state-wide efforts to deploy the DER strategy, services, and program Serve as subject matter expert on the DER Customer Program from both a regulatory and internal process perspective Engage and collaborate with Georgia Public Service Commission staff and intervenors on the implementation of the DER Customer Program its future evolution as a platform for serving customers' needs Responsible for overseeing the ongoing development of the framework and leadership that support Georgia Power's expansion into distributed infrastructure sales and contracting Responsible for meeting DER Customer Program goals through development of leads, initial contact with customers, proposal development, service agreement contracting, and developing creative technical and commercial solutions with internal and external partners Provide leadership and direction for the sales opportunities, contract negotiations, business case development and support the engineering, design, and construction of DER assets Engage with various asset and technology providers, vendors, and other potential partners to ensure that GPC is providing customers with high quality, reliable, and cost-effective assets to meet their needs Engage with executives at customers' (or potential customers') sites to develop the scope of work to support our DER offering Engage the following GPC and SCS internal groups including Generation, Economic Development, Region External, Pricing & Planning, Legal, Managed Accounts, Regulatory, Finance, Accounting, Transmission, Distribution, National Accounts, Generation Planning & Development, and New Ventures to develop the scope, perform risk assessment, and incorporate lessons learned necessary for the project's success Engage with other operating companies to discuss best practices, strategies, and technologies for deploying DER assets PDN-9cb4c3b4-06c9-4bac-ae81-b7062a9c562f
