Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Flight Inspector 4 to support our F-35 CFT program. Inspects demonstrator and production aircraft systems, equipment and parts for operation and conformance to government and company standards and specifications. Inspects the installation and operation of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, and emergency systems and other parts and equipment of aircraft. Performs preflight and postflight inspections in accordance with standard procedure on flight-proven aircraft. Approves non-flight-proven aircraft for flight. Inspects, adjustments, repairs, or modifications made on the aircraft. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. This position is located at MCAS Miramar CA. Responsibilities: * Evaluates documents, instructions, and procedures to be be followed during execution and communicates within various levels of the organization* Verifies work for quality, completeness, and proper function as well as adheres to processes, procedures, and specifications* Directly impacts Northrop Grumman's objective of optimizing our role as a key partner in the F-35 program* May require travel to other Department of Navy CFT locations for extended periods of time Basic Qualifications: * Must have a High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of additional education and/or related work experience* Comprehensive knowledge of Safety, Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Supply and HAZMAT programs* Ability to conduct audits, in progress and after the fact inspections and compose reports and correspondence as necessary in the performance of assigned duties* Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance* Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time) Preferred Qualifications: * 6 years of 5th Generation aircraft experience* Thorough understanding of fighter aircraft systems and operations* Fighter aircraft MRO&U experience* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications/maintenance instructions and apply their intent for evaluating any deviations from specifications to determine acceptability of operations* Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection instruments/equipment Salary Range: $81,500 - $135,900The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
