A Brief Overview Mitochondrial Medicine at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is emerging as the premiere center in the world for multidisciplinary clinical care, advanced diagnostics and therapies, and individualized basic, translational,and clinical research programs dedicated to improving the health of patients of all ages living with mitochondrial disease. The program is part of the Division of Human Genetics. As a Frontier Program at CHOP, the Mitochondrial Medicine program is a unique, cutting-edge program that will forge important discoveries.The Mitochondrial Medicine Frontier Program (MMFP) is seeking to fill a Program Manager Specialist position.Reporting to the Administrative Director, this hybrid eligible position( 2-3 days in the office will manage research and clinical administration related activities and projects, by providing leadership and ensuring implementation of sponsored project activities, grant management, and clinical trial administration for the MMFP.The primary responsibilities for this person will be in the area of financial and grant administrative support. In this capacity, the candidate will assist in pre-award activities for principal investigators, contribute to budget development for institutional and external awards, reconcile charges against various accounts, and assist in overall award portfolio management for PI's. In addition to the general research administration experience listed below, the optimal candidate will have experience in financial and award management. What you will do Create eSPA record alerting SPO and RBM of intent to submit proposal. Work with Principal Investigators on the preparation of study and research proposal budgets. Meets regularly with MMFP faculty, Principal Investigators and RBA to review financial accounts and research, clinical trial, and discretionary account budgets, specifically income, expenses, and contracts. Provide personnel cost allocations updates and payroll adjustment information to RBA. Works with CHOP Sponsored Program Office, Post-Award Research Administration and Clinical Trial Financial Management team to assist with grant, research, clinical trial administration. Assists with compilation of data, preparation of grants, scientific presentations, and progress reports as needed. Serves as primary liaison between research and other staff to carry out the needs of the research project(s). Ensure compliance, professional standards and regulatory requirements. Develop, facilitate and lead improvement of program metrics, tools and reports. Represent the program with internal and external stakeholders. Maintain and update Biosketch, Other Support, facilities, equipment, and other related proposal documents. Keep track of proposal submissions in which MMFP Investigators are included as Co-Investigators. Stay on top of deadlines, RPPRs and award management system notifications. Applies knowledge of NIH SF424 guidelines including application and reporting requirements, human subjects research definitions and exemption qualifications, Federal Codes, Regulations and Guidelines relevant to the performance and conduct of research projects. Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Required Master's Degree business, healthcare administration, or a health care related field Preferred Experience Qualifications At least three (3) years program management experience. Required Previous experience in a healthcare related environment. Required At least five (5) years of program management experience Preferred Skills and Abilities Intermediate proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office) including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Advanced knowledge of process improvement tools and methodologies. Intermediate knowledge of data and database management tools and principles. Intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools and practices. Intermediate knowledge of accounting, billing and finance principles.
