Office of the Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias Job Title: Assistant Chief of Security - Police Division: Operations Administration Union: N/A Location: Villa Park - DuPage County Salary: Salary starting at $4,123.00 monthly, commensurate with experience Overview: Under administrative direction of an Investigator-Lieutenant, plans, organizes, supervises and evaluates the activities of subordinate security guards in the Cook County area; Implements new and enforces established rules and regulations for building and grounds security; Assist in the administration of the Cook County Security Program for the Office of the Secretary of State; Responds to and resolves emergency situation that may arise at the Secretary of State's Cook County locations. Duties and Responsibilities: As Assistant Chief of Security, plans, organizes, supervises and evaluates the activities of subordinate security guards in the Cook County area, involved in providing safe conditions inside and outside buildings under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of State's Office; schedules and assigned security staff, is responsible for attendance, trains security guards, prepares reports for the Chief of Security, on activities and problems. Implements new, and enforces established rules and regulations for building and grounds security, by making visits to all locations on a regular basis, to ensure proper policies and procedures are being adhered to and correcting inequities in performance before they become problems. Assists in the administration of the Cook County area Security Program for the Office of the Secretary of State by researching problem situations in the Cook County area; makes recommendations to the Chief of Security as to problem resolution and improved security procedures. Responds to and resolves emergency situations that may arise in Cook County locations by tracking problems through communication with guards and recommending actions to be taken or sending in additional security when necessary; refers, only the most critical situations to the Chief of Security. Travels within operational areas; requires possession of a valid Illinois Driver's License. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
