Youth & Childrens Ministries DirectorYouth Oversee a thriving Youth Ministry (6th-12th grade) where youth are encouraged to live for Christ, engage in the churchs worship and follow the Great Commission. Organize and teach weekly Sunday School class and youth group, teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that engages the issues youth today face. Create day/evening events (movie nights, game nights, ultimate frisbee, etc.) and big events (lock-ins, retreats, etc.) Lead annual mission trip. Lead/organize a volunteer support team. Children Oversee a thriving Children's Ministry (birth-5th grade) that focuses on providing children with a strong foundation of the Bible. Lead the Children's Ministry Team: Coordinate the volunteer schedule of Junior Church, Sunday School and Nursery, teaching/leading as needed. Provide the weekly teaching curriculum from Orange, order supplies and schedule meetings as needed. Be present at Sunday morning worship, teaching the Children's Sermon as needed. Lead and organize Kids Klub and VBS. Lead Orange curriculum Easter Jam and Jingle Jam from the Orange curriculum. Additional responsibilities: Develop relationships with the youth, children, volunteers and parents/guardians. Encourage participation in serving opportunities in the community and offered by the church. Provide surveys to gain feedback on what is being offered and gather ideas. Teach in agreement with the doctrine of the church (Global Methodist.) Take steps to monitor that the Biblical concepts being taught are retained. Attend Administrative Board and Worship Planning meetings as needed. Hold regular office hours. Use social media to encourage/inspire and promote events. Qualifications: A love for God and neighbor, youth, children, and families. A passion for ministry in following Jesus example. Previous training/experience leading youth and childrens ministry preferred. The ability to teach and counsel. A drive to share the gospel and the churchs ministries in the community. Availability to schedule events when most convenient for parents/guardians and youth. Strong organizational and planning skills. Willing to participate in Continuing Education. Willing to be trained in CPR, AED use and submit to a background check. -Current average weekly attendance of children and youth: 25.-Reports to the Senior Pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee.-Employment type: Full-time.-Starting Compensation: 35-40k, commensurate with education and experience.-Benefits: pension.-Please send resume or email questions to: office@ westindependencechurch.org
