Graduate Intern, Novo Holdings, Venture Investments, San Francisco Novo Holdings is seeking a Graduate Intern to support the Venture Investments team, our dedicated biotech and medtech investment vehicle, in its investment activities over the course of the summer/fall semester in its San Francisco office. Novo Holdings is a holding and investment company that is responsible for managing the assets of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, one of the world’s largest enterprise foundations. The Job The role of Graduate Intern provides exposure to venture capital, biotech and drug development while allowing the successful candidate to work alongside and learn from an international team of seasoned life science investors. The primary role of the Graduate Intern will be to support the US investment team through deal flow administration and investment due diligence. Additional activities include screening of new companies, participating in global team meetings, as well as various ad-hoc tasks. The role will provide exposure to hundreds of biotech and medtech spanning a range of therapeutic areas and stages of development. The Graduate Intern will be expected to be in the San Francisco office 8-12 hours per week, with flexibility provided for study, exam, and research commitments. This role will pay $26 USD per hour. Your tasks will include: • Performing market research on companies and industries to evaluate new sector opportunities • Conducting financial analysis to assess new deal opportunities and strategic initiatives at existing portfolio companies • Assisting in due diligence processes on new investment opportunities via competitive landscape review • Preparing investment materials and internal memoranda on potential and existing investments • Supporting management of team CRM systems and vendor platforms Professional Qualifications • Currently enrolled in a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD program • Strong scientific literacy to synthesize primary research literature and unpublished company data • Basic understanding of drug development and the desire to learn more • Demonstrated interest in commercial application of scientific research, biotech, entrepreneurship or venture capital • Top-tier academic performance Personal Characteristics • Excellent analytical skills with the right combination of overview and attention to detail • Ability to work independently with structure • Motivated self-starter with a with a high level of integrity and detail orientation • Has a strong work ethic and is eager to work in fast-paced environment • Team player who wants to actively contribute and has a positive can-do attitude • Quality-conscious and impact-oriented • Strong intellectual curiosity Working at Novo Holdings We have a respectful and collaborative work culture where your opinion is valued.
