Practice Area: Tax - General, Job Type: Partner, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 8 Years, A law firm in New York City, NY is seeking a skilled and experienced Lateral Tax Partner to join their team. The ideal candidate must have a portable business of at least $1M and a proven track record of success in tax law. Job Duties:Provide strategic tax planning and advice to clients on a wide range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and international tax issues.Represent clients in tax disputes and controversies before regulatory authorities and in litigation.Develop and maintain strong client relationships to generate new business opportunities and expand the firm's tax practice.Mentor and supervise junior tax attorneys and provide guidance on complex tax matters. Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active membership in the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission by motion.Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing tax law at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.Proven track record of successfully bringing in and maintaining a portable business of at least $1M.Strong understanding of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Certifications:Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.Tax Law specialization certification preferred. Skills:Exceptional client management and business development skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.Proficiency in legal research and writing.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product.
