Job Description: The Business Systems Analyst leads a team in the effective and efficient design, development, maintenance, testing and implementation of assigned projects. The team may consist of technical staff from IT, vendors, and software consultants. This position helps develop project requirements and technical elements based on Mazda's Application Development methodology including security considerations, consistency with MNAO's data strategy and alignment with MNAO platform and hosting strategy. Requirements and follow-on development will be supported by time estimates. The Business Systems Analyst provides technical leadership and training to the project team and business area personnel and be a subject matter expert on the assigned systems. This position also works closely with other IT groups and business areas in team-oriented system development efforts. The Business Systems Analyst ensures projects meet service level requirements and satisfy customer expectations. Role also manages technical issues across all areas of IT. Design, Develop & Maintain Assigned Systems 40% Designs new systems and enhances existing systems to meet customer needs while adhering to MNAO standards, procedures, and practices (spanning application, data and infrastructure). Meets with customers to determine application logic solutions to problems/enhancements. Develops programming estimates and project proposals based on research of requirements. Identifies the best solution based on requirements; custom development or configured off-the-shelf software. Analyzes application and business problems to define, diagnoses and helps resolve system problems/issues. Maintains and modifies existing systems to ensure system functions efficiently and accurately meet system requirements and customer needs. Communicates effectively with customers and co-workers to enhance customer satisfaction and maintains and improves the quality of IT services. Assists in coding when practical. Assists in writing test scripts and training documentation. Project Management 30% Conducts regular project meetings with customers and project team members. Develops project proposals including project plans, document requirements and programming estimates. Makes task assignments to project team members. Monitors project schedules and keeps customers and supervisor informed of project status/issues. Keeps supervisor informed of all problems, suggests alternative courses of action, and takes necessary corrective action where appropriate. Department Support 30% Maintains awareness of technological business trends to better serve customer needs. Read technology and business publications and journals to keep abreast of new strategies. Attends training courses to enhance development methodology and project management skills. Collaborates with department managers and be available to provide technical training and mentoring and training to less experienced staff. Qualifications and Other Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information System, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. Minimum of five (5) years' experience supporting delivered IT applications and managing small-to-medium IT Projects with proven facilitation and relationship skills. Proven track record in the following: Experience working with senior stakeholders and non-technical business leaders. Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment. Preferred but not required: SAP FI/CO and exposure to SAP S/4 Hana and BTP (Business Technology Platform) highly preferred. IT support experience in the automotive industry. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of IT infrastructure, application development and data, and how it relates to enabling the business strategy. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Information Technology department employees and customer representatives. Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as the ability to learn and effectively utilize other software applications used within the Company. Well-balanced interpersonal skills; Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management, employees, customers, and outside vendors; Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate both orally and in writing, using good grammatical form, both in general correspondence, as well as on technical issues. Ability to translate the deeply technical information from reporting teams into Executive level summaries and communicate with the business units as needed. Strong project management skills; proven experience in planning, prioritizing, and executing projects and meeting tight system and service delivery deadlines within budget. Strong analytical and a problem-solving skill with the ability to identify problems and/or cause-effect relationships; identify key issues; secure relevant information from all appropriate sources; identify possible root causes of problems and develop and implement corrective actions for resolution. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Must be able to establish a course of action for self and others/department to accomplish specific goals; must plan and prioritize proper assignments of personnel and/or appropriate allocation of resources.
