WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) is seeking a Cathodic Protection Technician to join our Laurel, Maryland, team. As a Cathodic Protection Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our client's infrastructure and assets by performing cathodic protection inspections at client sites throughout the Baltimore area. If you're passionate about conducting cathodic protection system surveys and inspections, possess a background in electronic/electrical/mechanical work, and have a fundamental understanding of electrical systems and mechanics, we want to hear from you. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Cathodic Protection Technician at EBA, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including: Observing, recording, and measuring the effectiveness of cathodic protection systems. Performing field work and visiting test stations along roadways, and in bushes and difficult to navigate locations. Documenting both entry and advanced field measurements related to cathodic protection. Testing and troubleshooting the effectiveness of cathodic protection systems and recording the associated data. CORE REQUIREMENTS: To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and characteristics: Associate's degree in electronics/electricity, completion of a related vocational trade school program, received equivalent military electrical training, or have demonstrated experience as an engineering technician 3+ years of hands-on electrical/mechanical equipment technician experience (school or job related) Foundational knowledge of electrical systems/electronics, basic technical science, and associated electrical equipment Fundamental knowledge of mechanics and electricity Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations related to cathodic protection Must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds; carrying equipment to the field; walking over rough and uneven terrain; standing for up to 12 hours a day on occasion; bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting; sitting; climbing; and balancing Strong attention to detail and safety protocols related to electricity Valid driver's license and reliable transportation PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Self-driven and capable of performing field work Capability and willingness to learn about electromechanical systems Outstanding troubleshooting skills for electrical/mechanical systems Experience using bench and automated testing equipment Proficient using Microsoft Office 365, including but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Excellent verbal and written communication skills NACE certification WHAT WE OFFER: At EBA, we recognize that our achievements are built upon the expertise, insights, and collaboration of our team.
