Context and Philosophy Friends School of Baltimore is seeking a full-time Upper School French Teacher to begin inAugust 2024. The position would be to teach four sections of French at various proficiencylevels, using a communicative teaching approach that builds structural control and developslanguage proficiency in all modes of communication. The successful candidate will demonstratea desire and ability to inspire and support students, to work collaboratively with colleagues, touse technology in their teaching, and to employ a variety of classroom and assessmentstrategies that meet the needs of Language students with diverse learning profiles. All UpperSchool teachers participate in the full program of an independent school in addition to theirclassroom responsibilities.Responsibilities:● Teach the core subject area(s) that honors the Quaker values and the Teaching andLearning Paradigm of Friends School.● Collaborate with teachers in the Department, within the Upper School division, andacross other divisions at Friends School.● Provide clear, timely, and consistent feedback to students.● Meet one-on-one with students for support as needed.● Provide parents and administrators with written and oral reports (as needed) that explainin detail how students are progressing in the various areas of their educationalexperience.● Complete punctual, prescriptive progress reports, grades, and comments at theassigned times during the year for each student taught.Qualifications:● Bachelors degree required; Masters degree and experience preferred.● Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to understand and incorporate QuakerPrinciples and Quaker education into their work.Friends School of Baltimore actively promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion in all programsand operations, including admissions, financial aid, and hiring.
