We're looking for a Kennel Technician to join our team at Ward's Dog Training in Midlothian, TX. This role involves supporting the dog trainers in caring for the animals daily, which includes feeding, hydrating, and exercising them. The perfect candidate will be committed, have strong customer service abilities, and a profound love for animals. You'll get the chance to work in a lively, fast-paced setting, acquire valuable professional skills, and earn a competitive hourly wage ranging from $12.50 to $13.50. Responsibilities:• Clean and adhere to standards of health and safety in all pet areas, including kennels.• Ensure that all animals receive proper meals and have access to clean, fresh water.• Examine animals and provide treatments according to instructions from attending veterinarians.• Observe all animals for signs of distress and provide first aid when necessary.• Maintain records and inventory of medical supplies and medicines. Qualifications:• 18 years or older.• Able to lift up to 35 lbs.• Follows Directions.• Ability to work independently and in teams.• Attention to detail when caring for pets.• Knowledge of health and safety practices related to animal care.• Experience in handling and providing basic care for animals.• Excellent communication skills.• Ability to maintain accurate records.• Skilled in cleaning, sanitizing, and sterilizing animal care equipment and kennel areas.• High degree of patience and understanding when dealing with animals.• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.• Willingness to learn new techniques and procedures to improve upon services.• Passionate about animal welfare.• Knowledgeable of animal behavior and handling.• Ability to recognize signs of distress and sickness.• Physically able to complete tasks such as exercising and bathing animals.
