Title: Shipping & Receiving Manager Department: Shipping & Receiving Immediate Supervisor: Operations Manager Status: Exempt Position Purpose: Responsible for management of inventories and orders in assigned finished goods categories and insuring excellent customer service. Responsible for the management of raw material inventories as received from suppliers and dispersed into the production areas. Overall supervision of all shipping and receiving personnel. Principle Accountabilities: • Closely monitor stock levels of all raw materials and finished goods to ensure necessary materials are available where needed. • Maintain close contact with the Cycle Count Department to stay abreast of inventory problems or variances, with the aim of supporting that department with timely cycle counts. • Set up and maintain a constant cycle counting program in all inventory areas of the Shipping & Receiving. • Train all new cycle counters and establish an ongoing training program to ensure the cycle counters stay familiar with all situations that may effect their job. • Work with area managers to ensure oldest materials are used first and those obsolete materials are removed from inventories. • Ensure that cycle counters receive all required company training and that all attendance records are maintained. • Work with the Customer Service Department to maximize shipments to reduce freight costs and to ensure the accuracy of shipments. • Work with corporate designated freight carriers to receive lower freight charges. • Work areas must be neat and clean. • Must provide a safe work environment to all employees. • Assist in the identification of slow-moving materials and aid the Product Managers in the disposition. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Essential Skills and Experience: • High School diploma or equivalent required. • 10 years of manufacturing strongly preferred. • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite required. • Excellent written and oral communication skills required. • Exceptional organizational and time management skills required.
