The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in this specialized area of law and will oversee case strategy, litigation, and resolution for clients, mentor associates, and contribute to the firm's overall growth.Duties:Lead and manage a diverse range of workers' compensation defense cases from inception through resolution.Develop and implement effective case strategies in collaboration with clients and team members, ensuring alignment with clients' goals and expectations.Serve as a mentor to associates, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development and success within the practice area.Engage in business development activities to cultivate new client relationships and maintain existing ones, contributing to the firm's growth and reputation in the workers' compensation defense arena.Stay abreast of legislative changes, judicial rulings, and industry trends affecting workers' compensation to provide informed advice and strategic direction.Represent the firm and clients in hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings, demonstrating exceptional advocacy skills.Contribute to the firm's thought leadership by participating in seminars, writing articles, and engaging in professional organizations related to workers' compensation law.Requirements:Must be barred in the State of Illinois.5+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense.Extensive experience and proven track record in workers' compensation defense.Strong leadership and management skills.Excellent advocacy and litigation skills.Proven ability to develop and implement effective case strategies.Experience in business development and client relationship management.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to mentor and develop associates.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Illinois State Bar in good standing.Skills:Proficiency in legal research and writing.Strong litigation and case management skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to lead and mentor a team.Business development and client relationship management skills.Up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes, judicial rulings, and industry trends in workers' compensation.Benefits:Competitive salary with yearly bonus.Fully remote work environment.Company-paid PPO health insurance plus dental and vision options.Generous paid time off, floating holiday, and mental health day.401K retirement plan with employer match.Diverse, equal, and inclusive work culture.Ongoing support and professional career development.
