STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and India We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wireless Communications System Engineer IV in Fairfax, VA. This senior role requires a deep and broad understanding of land mobile radio, cellular radio, microwave radio, and wireless communications systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years of experience in these areas, possess advanced technical expertise, and have the capability to lead and manage complex projects. This role involves contributing to the strategic vision of projects, applying advanced engineering methods, and overseeing the design, development, and integration of sophisticated wireless communication systems. Key Responsibilities * Strategic Contribution: Contribute to the overall strategic vision of wireless communications projects by integrating a wide range of solutions to meet project objectives and requirements. * System Design and Development: Formulate and define system scope and objectives, develop or modify processes to address complex problems in wireless communications systems and interfaces. * Advanced Engineering: Develop and apply advanced engineering and design methods, theories, and research techniques to solve complex system requirements, hardware/software interfaces, and applications. * System Architecture: Oversee the design, development, engineering, integration, and architecture of wireless communications and information systems. * Studies and Research: Conduct studies to evaluate and recommend advanced technologies and solutions that address emerging needs and enhance system capabilities. * Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor teams of engineers, providing guidance, leadership, and support to ensure successful project execution and technical excellence. * Technical Project Management: Perform technical project management tasks, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and progress tracking to ensure project milestones are achieved.Required Skills and Experience: * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Minimum of 12 years of experience in land mobile radio, cellular radio, microwave radio, or wireless communications and information systems design and operations. * Proven expertise in one or more professional or technical specialty areas related to wireless communications systems on multiple complex project assignments. * Ability to operate with substantial latitude in developing methodologies and preparing innovative solutions to complex technical problems.Additional DetailsThe base range for this contract position is $40 - $80/per hour, depending on experience.Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
