About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Activities Coordinator for our team. The Activities Coordinator will play a pivotal role in community building and outpatient support at our center, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained and innovative approaches are integrated into our programs. This position requires a high level of independence since you are facilitating activities outside of the center and managing groups of clients in public settings. Ultimately, you build the connections during their time at the center to ensure continued engagement with program during the weekend. This is a great position for an extrovert that loves to plan fun events! Ultimately, you would be the Fun Captain that helps welcome clients into a community and critical to the long term engagement ensuring progress of clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Group Sessions Run on-site group meetings to facilitate and support client’s recovery during the week Build rapport and connections with the clients to encourage participation in weekend activities Provides empathy, compassion, understanding, and support to clients during and in-between sessions Administrative Track and submit notes from weekend activities on Monday Observe, track and report to the client’s case manager and therapist to collaborate on the best treatment plan Weekend Activities Plan and coordinate appropriate weekend activities, outings, and events for mental health clients Supervise and facilitate the weekend activities, including transportation, head count and engagement Assist with developing and implementing new activities. Example of Activities: Museums, Movies, Hiking, Fitness Classes, Theater Shows, Painting Classes, Whale Watching, Craft Days, Beach and Bonfire Parties, Park Days, Holiday Celebrations and more Education, Experience, & Skills Certificates & Licenses: Current RADT, RAC, CATC, SUDRC or greater credential. Education: High School Diploma Required. Preferred AA or Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college in Human Services or Behavioral Health. Experience: 2-3+ years as a Behavioral Health Technician, Case Manager, SUD or Mental Health Counselor, or Activities Manager. Availability : Saturday and Sunday are required but we are flexible about the 3 weekdays at the center. Flexible hours and variable shifts including daytime, evenings, nights, and holidays for weekend activities Skills: Enthusiasm and ability to engage and motivate groups Warm and empathetic to engage with clients Strong Written and Verbal Skills Willing to have flexible hours and ability to travel throughout Orange County Other Requirements Negative TB test within past year Ability to pass pre-employment and/or random drug screenings Current and valid Driver’s License with clean driving record Able to sit, walk, stand for extended periods of time.
