ROLE PROFILE SUMMARY: The Wean-to-Finish Technician is responsible for the daily care, health, and management of wean-to-market hogs in an agricultural environment. This role requires hands-on interaction with livestock, adherence to biosecurity and safety standards, and maintaining consistent routines.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Receive, sort, and care for wean-to-market hogs.• Administer injections and assist with vaccinations.• Monitor and maintain animal health, identifying and apply appropriate treatments.• Implement feeding and nutrition management plan and maintain a clean, safe environment.• Carry out general facility cleaning, maintenance, as well as hygiene and biosecurity protocols.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS• High school diploma preferred but not required.• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication).• Strong communication skills.• Consistent attendance and reliability.• Prior pork production experience is not required as on-the-job training will be provided.• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.• Strong time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.• Highly responsible and motivated to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.• Must prioritize tasks based on importance and urgency.• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required.• Respect and care for animals is mandatory, with a focus on promoting a culture of animal welfare and biosecurity compliance.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:• Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for up to 10 hours a day.• Must possess ambulatory skills sufficient to move throughout the farm.• Ability to work in noise levels that may require hearing protection.• Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, perform repetitive motions, climb 4-foot gates, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation or assistance from another team member. • Must possess good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
