This person is responsible for operating the forklift to move products onto trucks in preparation for delivery.Novo Building Products is an industry-leading manufacturer and distributor of stair parts, mouldings, doors, specialty millwork, and a variety of board products. Based in Zeeland, Michigan, Novo Building Products operates Ornamental Decorative Millwork, L.J. Smith Stair Systems, and Novo Direct.Just as our products are used to build something new and inspire others to make living spaces more beautiful, we endeavor to impact the people and communities we touch every day positively.We are looking for a Forklift Operator/Loader on our First shift in our Allentown, PA warehouse, 4x10 workweek. Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 5 am - 3:30 pm Pay : $17.00/hr. Essential Responsibilities Operates a forklift to move products and pallets throughout the warehouse to an area safely. Communicate any discrepancies, product issues, or safety issues with the Supervisor. Ensures that product is moved and scanned using a radio frequency scanner to the correct location and confirms product labels are accurate. Maintains a clean and safe area free and clear of any debris. Anticipates the needs of the business, keeping like products together and accessible. Successfully passes all Novo forklift training and operates a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo. May place standup items into designated areas by hand as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications (Required) Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements Ability to move awkward product lengths and weight. Experience with operating a forklift with a rate rating of 6,500 pounds. Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company-approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment. Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills Ability to read, understand, and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions. Must be 18 years of age or older. Flexibility in scheduling - able to work overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment. Experience operating a forklift primarily with product weights of 2500 lbs. or more. Prior experience lifting wide loads as long as 18 feet. Minimum one year of experience operating a forklift.
