The Head of Nursing plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of primary care facility and the remote care team. This position combines clinical expertise with the leadership and administrative responsibilities. While working collaboratively with the clinical operations leadership team, the Head of Nursing is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the nursing staff (Clinic, Population Health, Triage) and nursing clinical operations within a primary care setting. This role includes providing leadership, management, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, adherence to regulatory standards, and the overall smooth functioning of the facility and care delivery. The Head of Nursing must be able to drive to relevant organizational milestones and their associated OKRs. Our Head or Nursing will be responsible for: Provide clinical supervision to all clinical support staff. Provide managerial oversight of registered nurses and other clinical support staff as delineated Lead quality improvement initiatives including quality, environment of care, infection control, etc. Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of safe and evidence-based patient care. Monitor patient care activities, assess patient needs, and intervene as necessary. Assist in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of clinical programs, including, but not limited to: chronic care management (CCM), remote patient monitoring (RPM), chronic disease-specific interventions, intensive care coordination, etc. Drive performance to organizational goals and OKRs. Population Health Program Development and Implementation: Collaborate with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other partners to execute these programs. Working with the Clinical Service Manager and Nurse Manager will help design, develop, and implement population, health programs and quality measures and interventions to address the specific needs of target populations. Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise nursing staff. Create and manage staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive work environment, encourage professional development, and address personnel issues as needed. Manage the allocation and utilization of clinical resources. Collaborate with administrative staff to optimize resource allocation. Quality: Working with the Quality Nurse and Clinical Services Manager, ensure that the clinic adheres to quality and safety standards, including infection control, accreditation requirements, and best practices, and also monitor and evaluate patient satisfaction. Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives. Champion and manage Harbor Health Care team products and program implementation efforts. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with healthcare providers, physicians, and other professionals to facilitate optimized patient care. Facilitate effective communication between the clinical team, administrative staff, and patients. Address patient concerns and complaints. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and policies. Emergency Preparedness: Ensure staff training and readiness for various emergency situations. Successful Head of Nursing will have: 10 years' experience and be a Registered Nurse Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or higher. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. Advanced nursing certifications (e.g., Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist) may be preferred. Proven clinical experience in primary care. 5 years of people management and leadership experience in a healthcare setting. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems, specifically Athena. Physical Requirements of the role include: This role is based in Austin, Texas with the expectation that 50% of time will be in-person at our clinics and offices.
