($17.86) and one year ($18.51) M-F days (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) Overtime during bi-annual election season 13 Paid Holidays per year Paid Vacation and Sick Time County Pension Plan and Full Medical Benefits PackageReports To: Director of Registration and ElectionDate of Job Description Creation/Update: 6-18-24Overall Descriptions of the Position:Performs all routine clerical duties and administrative tasks as required by the voter Registration and Election Office.Position Requirements:4-year high school diploma or GED required.Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as election correspondence and voting regulations.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to state agencies, Elected Officials, candidates, members of the public and other employees of the County including office staff.Must have computer and technology skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.Ability to type at a rate of a least 45 words per minute.Knowledge of the Commonwealth election and voting laws and regulations preferred.Must have a working knowledge of voting machines and related equipment.Must have and be able to apply general mathematical skills (Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.)Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Past direct customer service experience strongly preferred.Effective oral and written communication skills are required.Must be able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality at all times.Excellent organization and problem-solving skills are required.Must be able to lift 10 to 25 lbs. frequently, up to 50 lbs. occasionally.Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, and twist at will.Position Duties:Types reports, voter registration and election records and business correspondence, absentee ballots, forms and other material according to established procedure.Registers qualified applicants to vote.Questions applicant to obtain information (such as name, address, and age) and records data on prescribed forms. Evaluate information obtained to determine applicant qualification for voter registration under the applicable laws and regulations.Updates and maintains voter registration control records and information for verification and accountability of registered voters. Updates records for the cancellation of voter registration.Receives and reviews candidate election petitions and fees.Updates lists of Elected Official lists and distributes Certificates of Election.Receives and files ethics reports and campaign expense reports.Enters alphabetic, numeric, and symbolic voter registration and election data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen.Computer data entered with source documents, or re-enters data in verification format on screen to detect errors.Files records and reports, post information to records, and prepares office materials for mailing.Answers the telephone, receives the general public (customer service), routes inquiries to the appropriate individual or department and gives out routine information.Checks election ballots, voter registration records, business report forms and office records for completeness and accuracy.Assists in preparing for elections and election vote counts.Transfers and receives voters records to maintain voter history in accordance with the requirements of the Pennsylvania Motor Voter Law.Updates and maintains lists of precinct election personnel, voting locations, and party committee people.Performs all other duties as assigned.How To Apply:Please send the completed Mercer County standard application for employment (available online at www.mercercountypa.gov) , a letter of interest, and resume, to the following: Mercer County HR Department 125 South Diamond Street, Suite 17 Mercer, PA 16137Deadline to Apply: July 2, 2024PDN-9c5232f6-0a6b-4407-b88b-9c6ef592688b
