Vehicle Emissions and OBD Calibration EngineerCore Responsibilities•Engine Management System (EMS) mapping and validation •EMS & OBD calibration and validation including extreme ambient condition tests•OBD fleet verification - Software & ROM management, emission testing, issue investigation and resolution •New technology investigation for enhanced emission regulation and cost reduction •Engineering project support through coordination and tracking of test and development plans, project status/progress reports, and the execution of project activities through completion•Deep-dive technical support for pre-production and post-production issues•Technical reports on key project milestones and achievements•Support for EMS manufacturing, quality improvement, field claim investigation, and certification•Competitor vehicle propulsion system benchmarking•Travel both domestically and internationally (up to 15%)Core Capabilities•Ability to interpret regulation requirements and to follow the given test procedures•Understanding of the process methodology for calibration/tuning•Experience in debugging and resolving hardware and software issues•Working knowledge of vehicle communication network systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.)•Ability to instrument and operate data acquisition systems (ETAS)•Knowledge of Vehicle Emissions, OBD Regulations, and OBD monitoring system•Basic knowledge of vehicle control systems and internal combustion engineBasic Qualifications•B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or other related engineering degrees from an accredited university •Knowledge in propulsion system principles and operation•Understanding of vehicle communication network systems (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, etc.) and instrumentation/operation of data acquisition systems such as ETAS/INCA•Good written/oral communication and interpersonal skills•Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving recordPreferred Qualifications •M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or other related fields•Work experience including internship at an automotive OEM or a top-tier technology supplier •Engineering project experience related to vehicle emission testing and calibration•Knowledge of vehicle emission, OBD regulations, and OBD Monitor Systems•Engineering project experience in production automotive control systems design, test, debug, or calibration: ECUs, sensors, actuators, CAN, embedded software, etc.•BEV and/or Hybrid-Electric vehicle (HEV, PHEV) development experience•Knowledge of calibration process using design of experiments and optimization techniques•Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink •Knowledge in Python and/or C programming
