POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Program Manager is responsible for assisting in therapeutic programming. This position reports directly to the program manager. The Assistant Program Manager will advocate for clients and staff. Ensure that clients are provided with the highest quality care that is consistent with the CARE/TCI practice model. Ensure all team members feel respected and included, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide shift planning, coaching, and decision-making support for staff on duty, consistent with CARE principles. In addition, assist staff in implementing client-specific interventions/supports based on the client's LifeSet service plan and red flag updates. Assist in interviews, selects, supervises, and completes performance evaluations for Youth Care Workers assigned to the TLP. Works with Program Manager to correct performance problems as needed, including recommending disciplinary actions to the Manager of TLPs and Director of Child Welfare. Complete documentation as required by the agency as well as assist/provide oversight to all staff in their completion of client documentation paperwork. Provide supervision to assigned Youth Care Workers. Ability to role model/Coach a strong work ethic with a focus on providing quality care for children Ability to build trust and a strong relationship with staff, peers, and stakeholders. Assures ongoing communication among youth care staff and between other members of the residential team, including therapists, and recreational and administrative staff. Attends LifeSet group meeting, red flag calls, and weekly clinical consultation. Assist in supporting staff in implementing Guidetree interventions and/or other supports during interactions with youth, based on the youth's individualized plan. Identifies staff development needs and recommends and/or requires ongoing training for staff. Provides input to the annual training plan for staff. Reviews incidents and identifies patterns associated with individual youth and/or staff and develops strategies to reduce such episodes to the degree possible. Assures that required records and reports are completed, including client summaries, incident reports, workers' compensation reports, and other administrative and treatment summaries. Submits maintenance requests as needed. Assures a hygienic environment throughout the house. Assists in the development of program budget; monitors expenses and minimizes budget variances. Oversees the compliance with, and documentation of, documentation requirements by assigned staff. Requests training for staff if needed. This Position requires on-call status whenever applicable. Assumes other related tasks as required by the Program Manager SKILLS and ABILITIES Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication. Must be able to direct services in a manner that reflects appreciation for the cultural background, heritage and identity of the clients. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Candidates with personal lived experience in the LGBTQ+ community are strongly preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in the human service field with 2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. CARE & TCI One of the essential job functions of any position within the agency is to align your performance with our overarching philosophy of CARE. All decisions, actions, communication, and performance should align with the six CARE principles (Developmentally Focused, Family Involved, Relationship Based, Ecologically Oriented, Competence Centered, and Trauma Informed). Not only must you complete the CARE training with satisfactory participation, but you must then put that training into practice in your everyday work. Every employee must also pass TCI training with a satisfactory grade in written and/or physical testing. All employees must remain current on refresher training that is provided monthly at all locations. You will be tested every 6 months on the physical portion, if applicable to your position. You will be tested annually on the written portion regardless of your position. If you are not current on your TCI refresher training every six months, you will be required to retake the full course. If you do not pass either test, you may be required to retake the full course. Not only must you complete the TCI training with satisfactory participation, but you must then put that training into practice in your everyday work.
