Temporary Electric Engineering Analyst

Description:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Associates Degree in Electrical power/Energy field or equivalent. 2 - 3 years' experience in statistical work. 2 - 3 years' experience in energy analysis. Proficient in Microsoft computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook.) Navajo speaking is required. Valid Driver's License required (subject to motor vehicle record review). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES: Oversees system analysis (computer) database activities. Provides the annual power supply forecasts required by the power supply agents, power supply contractors and power supply schedulers. Provide analytic support to the Energy Scheduling Team and Energy Research Team. Compiles statistical information for electric utilities including retail sales data, work order statistics, outage information and miles of line. Develops and reviews load data, load duration curves and load projections as part of the planning process. Maintains RUS Inventory of Work Order Inspection List or Electric Work Orders for close-out process. Maintains electric and purchased power cost data. Responsible for data collection and database input for planning activities. Processes with telephone and television companies joint use applications. Acquires information on electrical transmission and distribution construction and assists in the preparation of statistical reports for RUS Inventory and other reports as assigned. Assists in establishing power supply requirements and contracts. Maintains and updates RUS Study Forms for Power Requirements, Electric System Loss Study, Construction Work Plans, Maintenance Work Plans, Integrated Resource Plan and Long Range Plans. Reviews and recommends approval of all electric purchase power, wheeling, and associated invoices. Prepares load schedule for electric purchase power requirements.
