Job Title: Technology Teacher Department: School Job Category: Faculty FLSA Studs: Non-exempt Hourly Salary: $20 - $25 per hour depending on education and experience Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (As scheduled – 3 classes) Reports to: School Principal (Chief Academic Officer) Job Summary: The Technology Teacher will serve as an educational leader as it pertains to technology at the school. The role will include teaching computer principles to K- 8th grade students and assisting the campus with minor technology troubleshooting. The role has specific duties and responsibilities detailed below. Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in related field Minimum Required Skills & Experience Must have 3 years’ previous experience working with school-age children. 2-year college completion in a related field (Education, Technology, Computer Science or related) Strong leadership, classroom management, and organizational skills a MUST Strong interpersonal and communication skills Technology Instruction • Basic typing/ keyboard skills • Using web browsers • Software Applications • File maintenance and organization • Using the internet for research • Basic computer troubleshooting • Online privacy, security, and safety skills • Coding/Robotics skills • 3-D printing • Content Creation Professional educator • Submit weekly lesson plans • Organize technology units to align with Enrichment Strands and Texas State Standards • Keep order in the classroom and handles student behavior issues in accordance with school system policies • Other duties as assigned Collaborative team member • Assist with campus projects and special initiatives as requested Manage the technology equipment Provide guidance, support and direction to teachers and campus regarding technology platforms (Google Suite, Seesaw, Clever, etc.) Communicate needs with STEM Department lead Stay up to date on changes and advancements in educational technology May also assist with a variety of audiovisual equipment as needed Job Specification The list of Requirements, Duties, Responsibilities is not exhaustive but is merely the most accurate list for the current job.
