JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibility for supporting the Indirect Tax Senior Manager and Vice President in ensuring Indirect Tax compliance primarily in the Americas and scope to expand role to cover Global Indirect Taxes. The role will involve ensuring tax returns are submitted timely and accurately and advising the business of technical matters and liability decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience with data manipulation tools and a passion for leveraging AI to transform tax functions. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams globally to harness data, streamline processes, and drive business strategy. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of tax, turning data into actionable insights and fostering a culture of continuous innovation.RESPONSIBILITIES Specific responsibilities include: * Review of tax returns prepared by Wood's compliance partner, and preparation of tax returns retained by Wood. * Working closely with commercial teams to advise on technical matters from a sales and use tax perspective and identifying potential overseas indirect tax risks and opportunities * Partnering with AP shared services, provision of training and guidance as required * Input into the configuration and roll-out of Oracle Cloud and the integration process * Identify process improvements through the use of data manipulation tools and AI * Conduct focussed business indirect tax audits * Monitor legislative indirect tax developments for opportunities and risks * Provide guidance on indirect tax matters in other jurisdictions as and when required and work with external advisors QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline * ....... Knowledge of: * A broad range of sales and use tax processes. * The use of ERP/Accounting systems to manage indirect taxes * The use of data manipulation tools * Preferably experience in the use of AI, or failing this a keen interest to develop an understanding in this area * Familiarisation of Indirect Taxes in other global jurisdictions * Knowledge of customs duties and an the implications of moving goods cross-border * US property taxes Experiences * Experience of advising on indirect tax matters in practice and/or industry role * Experience of researching and advising on indirect tax matters in the US and preferably Canada * Experience of managing relationships with external parties * High level of technical knowledge
