Job Title: System Administrator Department: Operations - Services Reports To: RSekure Program Manager Location: College Park, MD Schedule: Monday - Friday Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week Clearance Req: TS/SCI - Full-Scope Polygraph FLSA Status: Salaried, exempt Position Summary RSekure is seeking a skilled System Administrator with mid-to senior-level experience in the College Park area. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in Windows and Linux server system administration as well as network engineering for full-time positions in our network system group. This position will be full-time at a customer facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Member of the Network Systems team supporting a customer site location. Maintain information systems and their appropriate security posture. Perform Linux and Microsoft Windows system administration tasks. Perform tasks in IT and telecommunications projects in one or more of the following areas: Windows and Linux server system administration, integrating GOTS/COTS/open-source solutions, Virtualization technology, Networking and TCP/IP protocols, Storage technologies, and Remote access. Implement, maintain, and enhance a complex and diverse development environment. Review and test systems for adherence to the design requirements and document test results. Utilize engineering and research design methodologies appropriate to the development/test/production environment. Conduct requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual system components with emphasis on complex topics. Configure new systems and apply best practice security configuration on computers, servers, and network equipment. Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware, networking devices and software. Physically setup, cable, and power computers in classified and unclassified spaces for new programs or new computer additions; activate network ports including patch network when needed. Devise information system backup mechanism for program's specific requirements; perform system/data backup and archive logs according to security plan; exercise system and data recovery procedures regularly. Create custom solutions or provide commercial tool recommendations to automate audit procedures where SCAP Compliant Checker lacks proper functions to support. Examples include automated log rotation, mechanism to alert audit process failures, or scripts to detect inactive accounts. Support ISSM to perform audit tasks as needed. Develop and execute approved procedures for sanitizing and releasing system components and media. Maintain a working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures. Capable of interfacing with the customer and other contractors. Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period. Submit MSRs as required. Monitor RSekure email on a regular basis, at least 2 times per week, and respond accordingly. Complete required compliance training as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills Knowledge of managing the security aspects of an information system. Ability to work complex projects as a senior contributor within a development team consisting of customer and subcontractor personnel. Strong communication skills and experience working directly with customers. Strong communication skills and experience directing technical staff including subcontractor personnel. Education and Work Experience Minimum: Six (6) years of experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related discipline, or a master's degree with four (4) years experience. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional four (4) years experience is required for a total of 10 years. Experience with cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker). Prefer: Twelve (12) years of experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related discipline, or a master's degree with ten (10) years of experience, or a PhD with eight (8) years experience. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional four (4) years experience is required for a total of 16 years of experience. Experience with complex multi-system, cloud-native configuration management systems. Experience with Windows and Linux server system administration as well as Network Engineering. Experience designing, developing, and delivering IT and telecommunications systems and solutions. Desired Certifications and Licenses At least one technical certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE), information security (e.g., CISSP), networking (e.g., CCNA), system administration (e.g., RHCE, MCSE), virtualization (e.g., VCP), information technology systems management (e.g., ITIL) or project management (e.g., PMP, Agile). Special Requirements TS/SCI clearance with a Full-Scope polygraph. Work Environment Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Physical Demands To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. The ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb will be required for this position. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 30 pounds.
