QUALIFICATIONS 21+ years old 2+ years of experience in residential care or a related human services field Valid Illinois driver's license and proof of insurance Basic First Aid skills and ability to identify medical needs Heart for working with children with special needs Ability to deliver appropriate child care, win respect, guide development, and participate in our clients' treatment programs While not required, these preferred qualifications would be a bonus: Bachelor's degree in human services Teaching experience Experience working with youth with developmental disabilities YOUR NEW ROLE AS A SEASONAL SUMMER TEACHER In this part-time teaching role, your summer is filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments! You oversee our seasonal program and maintain a positive, supportive environment where every resident can try new things and grow their skills. Always upbeat and cheerful, you lead our residents on field trips and teach classes related to various subjects such as cooking, fitness, life skills, and arts and crafts.While teaching, you tailor your lessons to fit our residents' individual needs and treatment plans. You encourage your students and help raise their self-esteem as they tackle new challenges. Attentively, you help develop and adjust treatment plans to ensure every resident receives the most appropriate support.
