Primary Functions: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Programs, the STEM Program Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and advancing the Clubs' mission by overseeing STEM programs throughout the Boys & Girls Clubs in Palm Beach County. Develop and manage the implementation of all STEM programs, coordinating the delivery of services in accordance with local, state, and federally funded grant requirements. This position is involved in selecting, managing, and supporting the STEM Enrichment Instructors. Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities): Plan and design high-quality STEM programming that increases access for youth in low-income communities and identifies education practices that improve the quality of delivery. Develop and refine STEM curricula and resources to better support programming. Develop STEM curricula and activities in effort to engage members in Career Exploration and Career Readiness opportunities. Cultivate relationships with local organizations and instructional centers to enhance BGCPBC STEM programs through the acquisition of new resources (revenue, Club or partner-based STEM programs, volunteers, materials, etc.). Support and monitor the integration of community STEM partners within Clubs. Arrange for Clubs to participate in community events and field trips, as appropriate. Showcase STEM projects, including preparing Club-based presentations and community events for funders and other audiences. In keeping with the BGCA Formula for Impact objectives, effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for members that are fun, educational, and engaging. Participate in professional communities and network with others engaged in similar work locally and nationally. Develop systems and conduct observations to ensure fidelity and quality delivery of program elements throughout the Clubs. Gather and analyze data (qualitative and quantitative) to ensure that STEM programs meet grant outcomes and are responsive to the needs of youth. Lead professional development sessions with educators focused on the delivery of high-quality programming. Hire and oversee STEM Enrichment Instructors. Develop and implement systems and strategies for onboarding and supporting new STEM Enrichment Instructors. Manages and reports on grants focused on STEM programs and outcomes. Skills & Knowledge Required: Bachelor's degree required. Experience teaching in K-12 or informal settings preferred. Strong commitment to and understanding of the needs of youth and families from low-income communities, gender- and culturally-responsive teaching, and youth development. 3-5 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated experience in developing and delivering programming for youth. Strong preference for experience working with youth from low-income communities. Strong writing, editing, and research skills, with an ability to simplify instructional and technical information for a non-expert audience. Experience in providing professional development to educators. Self-awareness and commitment to continuous learning and development. Ability to take initiative, work autonomously as well as across regions and teams, and prioritize work tasks in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills, with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of staff at all levels within an organization. Reliable, sound judgment and pragmatic decision-making skills; ability to identify potential problems, analyze issues, and provide proactive solutions. Excellent project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple bodies of work and prioritize to meet deadlines. 1-3 years of experience on grant management and reporting. Relationships: Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with staff (professional and volunteer) and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel. External: Maintain contact with external vendors, donors, and others to assist in resolving challenges Physical Requirements/Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
