If you're ready to use your skills in counseling, psychology, social work, or behavioral sciences to prevent homelessness and secure housing for veteran families, then this is the role you've been waiting for! YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS OUR SSVF HOUSING NAVIGATOR You'll have a full-time Monday through Friday schedule between 8 AM and 5 PM. As our SVF Housing Navigator, you'll work closely with veteran families to ensure they find and maintain stable housing. Your day-to-day will involve conducting outreach to veterans and their families, connecting them with vital community resources, and partnering with local landlords and housing organizations. You'll collaborate with our Outreach Coordinator and other service providers to ensure veterans have access to the services they need, from housing support to essential local resources. Your work will require strict adherence to grant requirements, meaning you'll complete necessary screenings and documentation accurately and on time, maintaining the highest level of professionalism. Whether you're in the community building relationships, assisting with local resource development, or working directly with veterans, your goal is always the same: reducing homelessness and creating lasting solutions for our veterans and their families. Here's what we need from you: Bachelor's degree in a health-related field of counseling, psychology, social work, or other behavioral sciences Knowledge of homelessness issues that veterans and their families face Knowledge of community resources with the ability to develop new resources in the community that assist veterans and their families Excellent communication and public-speaking skills A team player Experience working with veterans, their families, and/or homeless populations is preferable.
