JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Design Engineer, Electrical designs control and software systems, develops algorithms, and collaborates with teams in New Product Development (NPD). This role ensures compliance with industry standards, supports innovation initiatives, and provides technical guidance to project teams and junior engineers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Design electrical systems from concept to commissioning. Develop controls/software systems, including specifications and user interfaces. Communicate service documentation needs to the design team. Engage in NPD activities like design, verification, and delivery. Provide support to Manufacturing, Sales, and other areas as needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering. 3+ years of relevant experience; CNC experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., C#, C++, Python, Java, VBA, or VB6). Familiarity with ladder logic and structured text. Knowledge of IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio, Step 7, Automation Studio, Spyder, and TIA Portal are preferred). Experience with Agile methodologies and unit testing. Strong communication and math skills, including differential equations and basic statistics. Ability to conduct a code review and write unit integration tests. SOFT SKILLS: Proactive planner with strong organizational skills. Collaborative team player with a positive attitude. Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
