Join us!This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.The Special Education Compliance Coordinator/ Special Education Teacher ensures that all policies and procedures that define the operations of a compliant special education department are provided support and guidance as necessary and supports the special education team with the development of a state testing plan for students with disabilities. The Special Education Compliance Coordinator/Special Education Teacher is vital in ensuring all Intervention Specialists on staff receive the support they require to become successful teachers of students with disabilities. The Special Education Compliance Coordinator/Teacher supports with Resource Room caseloads as needed up to half a typical Special Education teacher ratio.Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. * Reviews metrics of compliancy due dates; decides if IEPS and/or ETRs need to be created and/or amended, makes revisions as necessary; * Ensures IEPs are fully compliant and meet state standards; * Supports students after enrollment is initiated as deemed necessary by operational metrics; * Provides support and guidance to the school psychologists while ensuring their processes and policies are compliant in initial and re-evaluations; * Ensures students are placed in related services in an efficient, timely manner * Coordinates the state testing of students with disabilities with the state testing team to ensure all students with disabilities test and receive their allowable accommodations * Serves as a mentor to intervention specialists requiring additional support as identified by the Lead Teacher or Special Education Manager to ensure state compliance; coordinates a mentor intervention specialist program; provides support and resources to mentors; * Collaborates with Special Education Manager to determine professional development needs for both special education department and full staff; * Serves up to half a typical Special Education teacher student ratio as directed by the ISD Special Education Plan * Assist School with Count Day Prep 2x/yr * Review and provide guidance for collection of Caseload Worksheet Bs 2x/yr * Serve as the LEA/District Representative for IEP Meetings for designated meetings * Investigate, research law when complicated questions arise when Special Education compliance items arise and collaborate with the ISD- K12/Stride personnel for guidance * Support Special Education Administration with all Special Programs Audits * Review IEPs regularly for compliance and report out weekly on non-compliance/compliance tracking * Meet with teachers 1:1 on a rotating basis to review their IEPs/compliance * Support 1% CAP paperwork, ensure activities are completed throughout the year, meet with ISD for data review * Support oversight of data gathering for Guided Self Assessments for all programs * Review Related Services Tracker for IEP due dates * Allow availability to staff to answer questions and coach on IEP processes * Support completion of work related to Catamaran Releases throughout the year * Collaborate with the Transition Coordinator on B-13 yearly audit * Support completion of Corrective Action Plans and Remediation Plans for all audits where this is required * Provide Monthly/Biannually Progress Report emails, calendar appointments, and trainings, oversight of staff completion on compliance related items * Oversee completion of Service Capture, monthly reminders, review for accuracy; monthly report to leads/supervisorRequired MINIMUM Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Education AND * 3 or more years' experience in the special education field * Active State Teaching licenseOTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Computer Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency. * Travel: Ability to travel 25% of the time. * Ability to pass required background check Desired qualifications: * Masters' Degree * Working knowledge of state special education processesCompensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections.
