Job Specification: Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Risk Management PoliciesKey Responsibilities:1. Policy Development:● Lead the development of comprehensive risk management policies pertaining to leveraged lending.● Create policies encompassing risk objectives, underwriting standards, and controls.● Define leveraged lending definitions, risk appetite, and compliance checks within policies.2. Documentation:● Oversee the creation of deliverables including Underwriting Standards Document and Concentration Limit Policies.● Ensure detailed criteria for borrower evaluation, cash flow analysis, and secondary repayment sources are effectively outlined.● Define clear limits for leveraged loan exposures by industry, sponsor, and geography to ensure diversification and mitigate concentration risks.3. Procedures Manual and Guidelines:● Collaborate with documenters to create an Underwriting Procedures Manual.● Document step-by-step underwriting processes for leveraged loans, emphasizing data requirements, analysis steps, and approval processes.● Ensure thorough documentation of procedures for conducting credit analyses, considering leveraged lending's unique risks and regulatory considerations.4. Compliance and Monitoring System Enhancement:● Develop a Compliance Monitoring Plan to regularly review compliance with leveraged lending policies and regulatory requirements.● Incorporate reporting templates and procedures into underwriting standards and credit policies for efficient reporting to management and regulatory bodies.● Ensure that compliance monitoring plan integrates seamlessly with existing risk management framework.Qualifications:● While not required, previous regulator experience is a big plus.● Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.● Extensive experience in risk management within the financial services industry, particularly in leveraged lending.● Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices related to risk management policies and procedures.● Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and regulatory guidance.● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.Powered by JazzHR
