Date Posted: 10/25/2023 Req ID: 34646 Faculty/Division: OISE/UT Department: Dept of Curriculum, Teaching & Learning Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: This is a required course for master's students (and doctoral students who did not take it in their masters programs). The aim of this course is to apply theory and research to the study of curriculum and teaching. The course (a) provides a language for conceptualizing educational questions; (b) reviews the major themes in the literature; c) provides a framework for thinking about curriculum changes and change; and (d) assists students in developing critical and analytical skills appropriate to the scholarly discussion of curriculum and teaching problems. Estimated course enrolment : 25 Estimated TA support : None Class schedule : See job application site for schedule and mode of teaching Sessional dates of appointment : January 2024 - April 2024 Salary : As of September 01, 2021, the minimum stipend is $8,489.67 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course. Salary may be prorated based on the appointment percentage. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum qualifications : Candidates should possess a doctorate degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrated currency and mastery of the subject area. Mastery may be demonstrated, but not limited to scholarly publications establishing expertise in the area. Preferred qualifications : Over and above the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to individuals with prior graduate teaching experience in this area. Description of duties : Prepare, organize, and teach this course; be available to students seeking assistance between classes; evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work.
